Who We Serve
Kirssy Martinez
“I moved from the Dominican Republic when I was 14 years old. After graduating from high school, I spent eight years of my life underground. I had been a really good student, but I didn’t have the financial support to attend college…
Now I am in school. My GPA is 4.0. I want to (one day) be a college professor…
My message to prospective applicants for the scholarship is that you shouldn’t be afraid. TheDream.US is a group of people trying to help undocumented students who don’t have access to financial aid.”

DREAMers – A GENERATION OF TALENTED, MOTIVATED YOUTH
We believe that DREAMers should have the opportunity to realize the American dream of obtaining a college education and contributing to the prosperity of our nation.
UNDOCUMENTED, BUT READY TO SUCCEED
DREAMers are undocumented immigrant youth who came to this country at a young age. For many, it’s the only country they’ve ever known. There are now 1.8 million DREAMers living in the U.S. 98,000 graduate from high school every year–wanting more than anything to get a college education and help their families and communities prosper.
DACA STATUS ONLY GOES SO FAR
In 2012, President Obama implemented DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals), which gives DREAMers the right to remain in the United States and to work legally. But DACA does not provide a path to citizenship or entitle DREAMers to any federal or state aid to support their college education.
DREAMers ARE LOCKED OUT OF EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES THEY DESERVE
DREAMers are highly motivated students who bring a sense of responsibility and accountability to their college educations—but only 5 -10% are able to afford it.
They have NO access to Pell Grants. NO federal education loans. NO federal work study. Many face paying out-of-state tuition in their home states.
WORKING TOGETHER, WE CAN HELP
The DREAM.US is the nation’s largest college access and success program for DREAMers.
Working with our partners, we provide scholarships to highly-motivated DREAMers to help them pay for their college education.
