Washington, DC – TheDream.US, the nation’s largest scholarship and success program for immigrant youth, is proud to announce new Partner College relationships with Salem State University and University of Massachusetts Boston to help more Massachusetts Dreamers achieve their college and career goals. The new announcement comes as TheDream.US opens its newest scholarship application round and as the organization plans to celebrate its first decade of operation next February, having awarded more than 10,000 scholarships to Dreamers.

The new possibilities for Massachusetts Dreamers are thanks to the Commonwealth’s 2023 passage of in-state tuition eligibility and state aid, developments that allow TheDream.US to support the higher education and career goals of Massachusetts Dreamers with and without Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status. TheDream.US is entering its tenth year of providing scholarship and opportunities to Dreamers, having awarded more than 10,000 scholarships over the past decade.

TheDream.US scholarships are open to undocumented immigrant students with or without DACA or TPS who came to the U.S. before the age of 16 and before November 1, 2018.

  • Massachusetts Dreamers can apply for TheDream.US National Scholarship, for high school graduates or those currently/previously enrolled in college to attend either Salem State University or University of Massachusetts Boston. Massachusetts Scholars also have an online option via Purdue Global. The National Scholarship is for tuition and fees up to $19,500 for an associate’s degree and $39,000 for a bachelor’s degree. Deadline for applications is February 29, 2024. Learn more and how to apply HERE

Gaby Pacheco, newly announced president and CEO of TheDream.US, stated: “Expanding TheDream.US program and partnership to Massachusetts has been a long-held desire for us. As we start our second decade of providing college and career opportunities to Dreamers and as we open our newest application round, we are excited about our new partnerships with Salem State University and the University of Massachusetts Boston and the promise of supporting talented Massachusetts’ Dreamers’ pursuit of higher education and career success.

These newfound partnerships are thanks to the passage of the Massachusetts in-state tuition and state aid laws signed earlier this year – a legislative effort we were proud to support, including through our pledge to bring our scholarship program to Massachusetts after enactment. Along with our more than 80 existing Partner Colleges across the country, we now look forward to working with Salem State and UMass Boston to support Dreamers’ evolving needs.”
