DACA Renewals: TheDream.US can help

Dear Scholars,

The Supreme Court has agreed to hear arguments in the DACA case on November 12, 2019 and it could issue its decision any time between January and June of 2020.

Immigration lawyers are encouraging you to renew as soon as possible – even if your DACA expires one year from now.

Good News! Through the help of a generous donor, TheDream.US is offering to pay the DACA Renewal Fee for new and current Scholars who meet our eligibility criteria (below).

The funds are limited and will be awarded on a first come basis. We will close the application form when we have reached the maximum number of applications.

Please do not apply if you are able to access other funds to pay for your DACA renewal fee.

You must meet the eligibility criteria set forth below. You are not eligible for this DACA Renewal fee program if:

You have already filed your DACA renewal;
You are a California resident – see here for a list of CA organizations providing fee assistance; or
Your college is providing funds for DACA renewal (please check with your Scholar Advisor).

After ISTS confirms your eligibility, it will mail you a check written to the Department of Homeland Security for $495 to the address provided in your application.

DACA ASSISTANCE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

1. You must be facing financial hardship. Please do NOT apply if you have access to funds for the DACA Renewal Fee through community organizations, your family, or friends.

2. Your DACA authorization must have already expired or will expire before December 31, 2019.

3. You must be a Scholar enrolled in a Partner College in Fall 2019.

If you are a returning Scholar, ISTS must have approved your scholarship renewal (this does not apply to New Scholars). Check your Scholar Portal: https://dream.applyists.net

4. You are not eligible if:

You have already filed your DACA renewal;
You are a California resident – see here for a list of CA organizations providing fee assistance; or
Your college is providing funds for DACA renewal (please check with your Scholar Advisor).

You must complete the online application before October 15, 2019, 11:59 PM PST.
