📋 ELIGIBILITY CLARIFICATIONS
TheDream.US Scholars and Alumni already meet many of the Dream Act’s requirements:
Stage 1— Conditional permanent residence
- Arrived in the U.S. before 18
- Lived in the U.S. continuously for at least 4 years
- Graduated high school or earned a GED
Stage 2— Path to Green Card
- Continue residing in the U.S.
- Earn a college degree or complete 2+ years of college
Important notes:
- Applies to ALL Dreamers — not just DACA or TPS holders. Immigration infractions (crossing the border, being undocumented, overstaying a visa) will be waived.
- You do NOT need to repeat any of your education or enlist in the military.
- If you owe federal taxes, you will have to pay the IRS.
✅ NEXT STEPS
✍️ Write a letter to Congress in support of the Dream Act (guidance on slides #7–9 here). If you prefer not sharing your address, have a friend or mentor write on your behalf. If you are comfortable, upload your letter here. You will need to include your App ID, which can be found in your ISTS Scholar Portal.
