Dear Colleges,
We have some exciting news to share. In partnership with the non-profit SocialFinance.org and lending company FundingU, we have launched a graduate education lending program for TheDream.US alumni. The Dreamer Graduate School Loan Program will provide loans to eligible TheDream.US alumni at an annual percentage rate comparable to the federal Grad PLUS program.
This Fall, we did a soft launch and already close to 60 TheDream.US alumni have used this loan program to help them pay for grad school.
We look forward to seeing TheDream.US alumni continue their studies at your or other institutions. Furthermore, we hope to partner with your university to enable TheDream.US alumni to fulfill their graduate degree aspirations and ensure that they are not burdened with undue debt. To that end, we hope that you will join us in supporting our shared Scholars to achieve their graduate degree aspirations by:
- Offering financial aid that can reduce their need for loans
- Being flexible with your deadlines for receiving deposits or tuition payments
- Offering in-state tuition (if applicable), particularly for TheDream.US alumni who attended your institution for college.
Working with Funding U and donors, we expect to offer loans to hundreds of students annually for graduate education. As our alumni consider their graduate school choices, we look forward to sharing information on graduate programs such as yours that support students with financial aid and have strong graduation and employment outcomes that provide a positive return on investment for graduate loans.
