IMPORTANT: Compensation from the opportunities listed below is considered taxable income and should be reported as income on a tax return. It’s recommended that Scholars save 30-35% of their stipends/compensation to pay taxes. Review page 2 of our Tax Matters FAQ (found on our ITIN webpage) for more information.
Fall 2024 Paid Opportunities
1. Beyond Rising Internship @ Oyate Group (In-Person in NYC) – Deadline to Apply: Sunday, September 29 Soon! | Stipend: $500 per month
Must be an undocumented youth aged 16-20 living in NYC. All majors welcome. Interns are connected to local colleges, businesses, and nonprofits. Apply Here.
2. ELLA Fellowship @ Sadie Nash (Hybrid in NYC or NJ) – Deadline to Apply: Tuesday, October 1 Soon! | Stipend: $1,200
Must be 18-22 years old located in NYC, NJ, or no farther than 2 hours from NYC or Newark. Must self-identify as a woman or gender-expansive person. Be a self-motivated individual that wants to make a change in their community by bringing to life an individualized social justice project. Apply Here.
3. Career Connections Intern @ TheDream.US (Virtual) – Deadline to Apply: Sunday, October 6 | Stipend: $4,000

4. Home is Here Opportunity Program @ Immigrants Rising (Virtual) – Deadline to Apply: Monday, October 14 | Stipend: $7,000
Must be interested in learning about entrepreneurship and advocacy, and have experience and comfort in public speaking, sharing your story, and building community. Entrepreneurship experience preferred but not required. Apply Here.
5. CTD Learns Courses @ Code the Dream (Virtual) – Deadline to Apply: Sunday, November 10 | Stipend: $0
Founded by a former undocumented professional, Code the Dream provides free coding and software development courses. These courses are offered 3 times a year – Spring Trimester CTD Learns applications are currently open. Must be 18+ years old, from a diverse background, and has time/motivation to excel. There is no stipend for taking the courses, but individuals who successfully pass CTD Learns are eligible to apply for their paid, inclusive apprenticeships (apprenticeships are competitive and full-time for roughly 10 months; pays $30,000-$35,000). 6. Spring Ignite Fellowship @ Teach for America (Virtual) – Deadline to Apply: Wednesday, November 20 | Stipend: $1,200
A virtual tutoring fellowship during spring 2025 semester. All majors welcome. Apply Here.
7. Summer Internship Program @ Health Career Connection (Depends on host site whether in-person or remote) – Applications Open: Wednesday, October 9 | Deadline to Apply: Wednesday, December 11 | Stipend: $4,200 – $6,000
Summer internships for BIPOC, low-income, and first-generation students who are interested in public health (health policy, community health, health IT, etc.). Ability to intern 10 consecutive weeks, full time (40 hours per week) during typical business hours over summer. Apply Here (starting Oct 9). RSVP for an Applicant Info Session Here. 8. Summer Health Equity Scholars Program @ Health Career Connection (Virtual) – Applications Open: Wednesday, October 9 | Deadline to Apply: Wednesday, December 11 | Stipend: $2,200
A virtual program to develop the next generation of diverse health equity and racial justice leaders. Must be interested in public health and from a diverse, low-income background. 9. Dream Summer Fellowship through UCLA’s Labor Center – Applications Open: TBD – Usually in December or January | Deadline to Apply: TBD – Usually in January | Stipend: $7,000
Helps place immigrant youth fellows with social justice organizations nationwide. Must have interest in social justice and immigration issues. All majors welcome. Learn more here (this website should be updated with 2025 Fellowship program later this fall).
