Important Action Regarding the DACA program

Critical DACA Action

Dear Scholars,

Several months ago, the Department of Homeland Security and the Biden Administration, in its attempt to fortify the DACA program invited the public to comment on the DACA program.

We wanted to share with you an opportunity to provide your comment on the proposed rule.

The document we’ve created for you is a guide (click on the hyperlink) to assist you in commenting on the proposed rule by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS), Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (USCIS-2021-0006). The deadline to submit comments is November 29, 2021, at 11:59 PM ET.

Individualized comment letters are incredibly useful to demonstrate the broad impact of the proposed rule and build an administrative record for future advocacy. Federal law requires that the Department read, review, and consider all comment letters. For this reason, we ask that you write your own letter detailing your experience with the DACA program, how important it’s been to your life, and why this program should continue. You also don’t need to have DACA to comment, so your voice is as crucial if you are a friend of this program.

If you have any questions, you can email me at [email protected].

Thank you for taking the time to do this. As you know, DACA has been a life-changing program, and we all must do our part to advocate for it.

Warmest Regards,

Gaby
