In Advance of National College Decision Day, TheDream.US Proud to Announce its Nearly 1,500 Awarded Scholarships for DREAMers
Washington, DC – As high school students across the country are getting ready to celebrate National College Decision Day on May 1, TheDream.US is proud to announce it has awarded nearly 1,500 scholarships to undocumented students across America, one of the largest classes of awardees in the program’s history.
TheDream.US is the nation’s largest college access and success program for undocumented immigrant youth, partnering with more than 70 partner colleges in 19 states and DC. Eligibility for TheDream.US scholarship includes high school graduates with and without DACA, reflecting the shifting needs of the younger DREAMer populations.
According to Gaby Pacheco, Director of Advocacy, Development, and Communications at TheDream.US, “TheDream.US knows that providing opportunities to immigrant students can change lives, and we are excited to celebrate and get to know what promises to be one of our largest class of incoming Scholars.”
As Cinthya, a TheDream.US Scholar and 2020 graduate of Dominican University told us, “I would have never been given the opportunities and blessings I have received without TheDream.US! I was able to attend a four year university and was able to learn so much in those four years! My parents wouldn’t have been able to give me this same opportunity and I will be forever thankful to this program because my life has been greatly impacted by the help I’ve received.”
More specific numbers and a statistical breakdown of the incoming class will be available in the near future. To find more information and a statistical snapshot of our past Scholar classes go to https://www.thedream.us/impact/ourdata/.
