New Scholars: Have you completed these Onboarding Tasks?

For 2024 Scholarship awardees (“New Scholars”):

Hi Scholars,

We can’t wait to officially welcome you to the TheDream.US family next Thursday, August 8th at our annual New Scholar Welcome celebration! 🥳 Attendance is mandatory, so make sure you register here, if you haven’t already.

Over the past few months, we sent you a series of five onboarding emails containing key information and required tasks to get you oriented to our program. To help you out, here’s a list summarizing what you need to do by August 8th:

Your onboarding tasks:

  1. Weds, May 22, 2024 – Acknowledge your Scholar Commitments 
  2. Weds, June 5, 2024 – Join Our Private Facebook Scholar Community. This group will be closed to new members after August 8th.
  3. Weds, June 19, 2024 – Read your National or Opportunity Scholarship Program Guide and complete a short quiz testing their knowledge of the Scholarship policies
  4. Weds, July 3, 2024 – Get in touch with your Scholar Advisor here
  5. Weds, July 17, 2024 – Register and attend The New Scholar Welcome August 8th at 2 pm ET/1 pm CT/11 am PT (this event is required for all New Scholars); Your Partner College may be hosting an in-person screening with fellow TheDream.US Scholars (check with your Scholar Advisor)

You can find these emails posted here on New Scholar Central. As a newly awarded recipient of TheDream.US, you are required to complete these tasks by August 8th.

Congrats to those of you who have already checked off all items!

And heads up: You will start receiving text messages from us this week – please save the number in your phone as “TheDream.US”. We will text you to communicate time-sensitive reminders and deadlines for your college and career success from time to time.

The 2024 Summer Career Series Recordings are now available!

Last Thursday’s cheerful session on finding paid micro-internships on Parker Dewey was the final event of our 2024 Summer Career Series.

We would like to thank all our incredible speakers for sharing their time and wisdom, and we hope everyone who attended (about 900 Scholars and Alumni across the 6 sessions!) learned valuable tips for their professional journey and goals.
