Washington, DC – TheDream.US, the nation’s largest college and career access and success program for immigrant youth, offers a reminder to eligible students in “locked-out” states that less than one week remains to apply for the Opportunity Scholarship.
The application deadline for the Opportunity Scholarship, for students who live in locked-out states where they cannot access or face limited in-state tuition eligibility, is this Friday, January 31, 2025. Applications are open to immigrant students who came to the U.S. before the age of 16 and before November 1, 2019. All undocumented students who meet the eligibility criteria, including those with and without DACA or TPS, are welcome to apply. The Opportunity Scholarship provides a full-ride scholarship to one of five Opportunity Partner Colleges, offering up to $100,000 to cover tuition, fees, housing, and food over four years as recipients work toward a bachelor’s degree. The five Opportunity Partner Colleges are Christian Brothers University (Tennessee), Delaware State University (Delaware), Dominican University (Illinois), Eastern Connecticut State University (Connecticut), and Trinity Washington University (Washington, DC). Full information on eligibility for the Opportunity Scholarship and how to apply is available HERE.

As more than 11,000 current and past Scholars can attest, education is its own kind of passport, opening doors to opportunities that can transform lives and communities. We encourage eligible immigrant youth to apply before the upcoming application deadlines.”
