Editor’s note: The following were gleened from press releases and news reports. The italicized comments were obtained from social media posts by DACA recipients and their supporters.

▪ President Donald J. Trump (via Twitter): “These horrible & politically charged decisions coming out of the Supreme Court are shotgun blasts into the face of people that are proud to call themselves Republicans or Conservatives. ▪ Josué Armenta-Márquez“Thank you, Obama, you have and will always be the best President we had. You saw something in us that no other could see. thank you for giving us the opportunity.”

▪ Chief Justice John Roberts: “We do not decide whether DACA or its rescission are sound policies. The wisdom of those decisions is none of our concern. We address only whether the agency complied with the procedural requirement that it provide a reasoned explanation for its action.”
