[TheDream.US] Important Updates

Scholars,

I hope this email finds you doing well!

There is a lot going on at TheDream.US and we wanted you to be on the same page, so take note, and read the email ALL THE WAY THROUGH.

1.      Your Scholar Portal has a few updates:

a.      SCHOLARSHIP TOOL tabs-

                                                              i.      Scholar Program Guide– Last time it was edited was February 2017. We highly suggest you read it—even if you have read it before.

ii.      Partner College Directory– There are new contacts for some colleges—see if one is from your school.

iii.      NEW: Scholarship Maximum Award Guide and 2017 Scholar Calendar. You have two new charts to check out. The Scholarship, Maximum Award Guide, will help you figure out the maximum award you’ll receive from TheDream.US. The 2017 Scholar Calendar will give you the 2017 glimpse of all the events we will host, the MANDATORY ones you will need to attend, and when processes like your Scholarship Renewal will happen. CHECK THEM OUT AND TELL US WHAT YOU THINK!

2.      Summer Payment Process- We have started receiving inquiries about this. Melissa Barrera, our Program Coordinator, will send out a detailed email with more information. For now, please note that the summer payment process will be like last years. From May 1st – July 31st, Partner Colleges will submit Summer Enrollment information to ISTS; ISTS will send funds accordingly. Don’t forget to ask your colleges to please put holds on your accounts, so classes are not dropped. Please note, YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO TAKE SUMMER CLASSES and SUMMER PAYMENTS will come out of your overall Scholarship fund.

3.      Graduation Stoles– Scholars Stoles have been ordered and your Partner College had until Monday, March 27, 2017, to order them for the graduating Spring and Summer Scholars. Make sure you check in with them if you are graduating. For those Scholars attending Online colleges, we will mail the stoles to the address you provide.

4.      Upcoming Events- MARK YOUR CALENDARS! In April, we will have two Scholar ONLINE events.

a.      On April 12, 2017, we will have an Immigration Attorney talk to you about Employment Base Visas. We will send out a worksheet before the event so you can access if you are eligible for an employment base visa and if it may benefit you to hear from her.

b.      On Saturday, April 15th, at 2 PM EST we will host a Know Your Rights Training. This training is opened to everyone, so please let your family and friends know about it. More information about the two events will be sent out the first week of April.

Got an idea or suggestion? Write me an email; we would love to know how we are doing and what else we can do to support you!
