Washington, DC – TheDream.US today launched “What Will I Do When The Dream Act Passes?”, a new social media storytelling campaign featuring Dreamers from across the country sharing what greater stability and permanent protections will make possible in their careers, families, and communities. The series grew out of TheDream.US’s symbolic graduation in Washington, DC, where Scholars and Alumni were asked to finish the sentence: “when the Dream Act passes, I will…”

Their answers reflect the lives Dreamers are already building across the country and the opportunities they see ahead. TheDream.US will share a new story each week showing how permanent protections could allow Dreamers and the nation to build on those contributions.

“Dreamers are already strengthening the nation every day – like our mock graduation speakers, who are working as teachers, attorneys, engineers, entrepreneurs, and more,” said Gaby Pacheco, President and CEO of TheDream.US. “What you hear in these stories is not simply what Dreamers hope to do someday. It is how much they are already doing and how much more becomes possible when people have the stability to fully use their education, talent, and experience to strengthen the communities and the country they call home.” Watch a launch video from Gaby Pacheco HERE, highlighting the new campaign launch.

The series comes 25 years after the Dream Act was first introduced and as TheDream.US continues to spotlight the role Dreamers play in the American workforce, economy, and communities – and how much more they could do with the opportunity to become U.S. citizens.

  • TheDream.US is inviting current and former Dreamers to join the series by answering the question: “What Will I Do When The Dream Act Passes?” Participants can share their own video and tag TheDream.US for the opportunity to be featured or submit using the form HERE.
