Washington, DC – TheDream.US, the nation’s largest college and career success program for undocumented immigrant youth, today released “From Dreams to Destinations: A Decade of Immigrant Achievements and the Future Ahead.” Filled with never-released data and snapshot profiles of some of the organization’s 4,000-plus Alumni, the report documents how increased access to higher education and career opportunities catalyze social mobility and positive outcomes for individual Dreamers, as well as their families, workplaces, and broader communities. Among its sections, the report includes:
- A statistical snapshot of 11,000 TheDream.US Scholarship recipients over the past decade, including 4,200 currently enrolled Scholars and more than 4,000 graduates, from one of close to 80 Partner Colleges. TheDream.US data track both their college success and career trajectory, as well as statistics demonstrating the positive impact of expanded college and career opportunities for their families, the communities they live in, social mobility indicators, and the broader U.S. workforce.
- A recap of TheDream.US model of success, which goes beyond providing college scholarships to also offer support throughout students’ college journey, career preparation, and beyond. The approach is unique and designed to deliver scalable, sustainable impact.
- Profiles of TheDream.US Alumni who exemplify why expanding opportunities for Dreamers strengthens workplaces of all types – 93% of our Alumni with work authorization are working, concentrated in high-demand fields. Several alumni featured in the report are available for interview upon request.
- A look ahead at the next five years, and how TheDream.US is planning to meet the evolving needs of TheDream.US Scholars and Alumni.
The landmark 10-year impact report arrives at a pivotal time for Dreamers, with many facing renewed anxiety and uncertainty over such factors as the tenuous future of DACA and the repeal of in-state tuition waiver in Florida despite the track record of success underscored by this report. As TheDream.US co-founders Don Graham, Henry Muñoz, and Carlos Gutierrez write in the report about the success and impact over the past ten years:
