Dear Partner Colleges,
Great news! We will no longer require our Scholars to submit an exception request if they are not meeting our eligibility criteria (GPA of 3.0, full time enrollment of 12 or more credits, and continuous enrollment).
We recognize that there are life circumstances beyond a Scholar’s control that may impact their ability to meet our eligibility criteria. If this happens, we will require that the Scholar work with their Scholar Advisor to develop a plan to help them get back on track. We will review these situations with our Scholar Advisors on an annual basis and determine whether the Scholar is making adequate progress toward their degree. If a Scholar’s GPA remains below a 2.0 for more than one academic year, we will terminate the scholarship.
NOTE: We do not look at GPA’s until the end of the academic year – so the Scholars have the Spring term to get their grades up!
The Scholars do not need to notify or reach out to TheDream.US or ISTS except to request a break in enrollment. These will not be granted for more than two terms.
Please review the attached guidelines, an excerpt from the National Scholarship Program Guide, also attached. You will be able to find these, under the “Renewing Your Scholarship Section of the Guide.
If you have any questions, reach out to Melissa Barrera at [email protected] or Elena Salorio, at [email protected].
Our best,
TheDream.US Team
